Almost 1300 runners crossed the finishing line

CHEADLE Running Club had five finishers in the first 100 in the well-supported Potters Arf road race in Stoke-on-Trent on Sunday.
Almost 1300 runners crossed the finising line behind race winner Ben Gamble (Tipton Harriers).
The 35 year old from Stone finished almost two minutes clear of second placed Carl Moulton (Boalloy Running Club), clocking 1:10:53 to record his sixth win in the race around the streets of the Potteries, starting and finishing in Hanley.
Stuart Day was Cheadle Running Club’s first finisher in 25th spot in a time of 1:25:53 and was first M45 to cross the line.
Then came 51 Gareth Knapper 12:29:20, 66 Carl Astley 1:31:09, 90 Darren Morrey 1:34:10, 91 Rebecca Harrison 1:34:11 and 99 Glyn Pattinson 1:35:09, with Christopher Green just missing out in the top 100, clocking 1:35:34 in 106th place.
Harrison was fifth in the women’s race behind winner Kristina Defries (Trenthan Running Club) and third F35.
