Card details of people who used machine may be at risk
RESIDENTS are being urged to be vigilant following a cashpoint scam in Blythe Bridge.
Police say an external machine at Tesco Express, in Uttoxeter Road, was tampered with and are warning anyone who has withdrawn money at the facility over the last seven days to check their bank accounts.
They fear fraudsters could have installed a special card reader as long ago as November 5 and say bank details may have been compromised as a result.
The scam was unveiled after an engineer noticed the machine had been tampered with once it had crashed. The card-reader was uncovered when the machine was taken apart.
