The body of a 37-year-old woman was found at an address in Cheadle Road, Upper Tean on Saturday (September 19) morning.
Emergency services were called to the address and there was a police presence at the address for some time after the incident, including the attendance of forensics.
Staffordshire Police has said that formal identification of the deceased is yet to take place and that her death is currently being treated as “unexplained.”
A spokesman for the force said: “Detectives from Staffordshire Police are investigating the sudden death of a woman in Tean.
“Emergency services were called to Cheadle Road, Upper Tean, on Saturday morning (September 19) following the discovery of a 37-year-old woman’s body at an address.
“Her death is being treated as unexplained at this time and enquiries are on-going.”
The spokesman added: “Formal identification will take place in due course and a report is being prepared for HM Coroner.”
