Police clampdown on cannabis continues

ONE man has been arrested and two people are under investigation following two police actions in the Uttoxeter area.

Officers from Uttoxeter’s Neighbourhood Policing Team are investigating two people for potential drugs offences, while Staffordshire Police’s Disruption Team South made an arrest on November 26 in Uttoxeter.

Officers exercised a stop and search on a vehicle at around 2.25pm on Davies Drive, Uttoxeter.

The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old man, from Uttoxeter, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of class B – cannabis.

Two sims, a phone battery and an iPhone were seized from the vehicle.

A search of the man’s address was carried out by officers where two small pots of cannabis, two sim cards, cling film and scales were seized.

The 24-year-old has been released under investigation.

The on Monday 29 November, officers from Uttoxeter NPT were on patrol at Abbots Bromley when two people were spotted hiding.

In a post on Facebook, the officers said: “#UttoxeterNPT were out at Abbots Bromley this evening when we found two persons suspiciously hiding behind this car.

“Their story about losing something in the bushes didn’t wash with us and following a search, this cannabis was recovered! Offenders now under investigation!”
