A SUDDEN death in Cheadle is not being treated as suspicious, police have said. Emergency services were called to Attlee Road in the town last week, where a man in his 40s was found dead. A woman at the scene was taken to hospital.
Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) were deployed to the address on Thursday, October 10, following a report of a cardiac arrest at around 1.15pm.
A spokesman for WMAS said a man in his 40s was confirmed deceased at the scene with a woman taken to hospital in a potentially serious condition.
Police said no arrests had been made in connection with the death and that it is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service told the Times and Echo: “WMAS was called at about 1.15pm on Thursday to Attlee Road in Cheadle to reports of a patient in cardiac arrest.
“Unfortunately, it was immediately obvious that there was nothing we could do and the man was confirmed deceased at the scene.
“A woman in her 40s was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital after being treated at the same address in a potential serious condition.”
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police also confirmed the death, adding: “Police were called at around 1.40pm on Thursday 10 October by colleagues from the ambulance service to a report of a sudden death at Attlee Road in Cheadle.
“The death of the man, who was in his 40s, is not being treated as suspicious.
“No arrests have been made in connection with the death.”
