RAIL passengers from Uttoxeter are set to face a summer of delays and disruption due to major improvement works taking place in Derby.
The town’s train station will be used as a bus and train interchange during the project, which will begin in July.
An ‘enhanced’ coach and bus service will take travellers between Uttoxeter and Derby for about five weeks while the tracks are out of action.
Passenger numbers at Derby have doubled in the last 20 years and the scheme is part of the biggest upgrade of the Midland Main Line since it opened in 1870.
A dedicated website, www.dby2018.co.uk, has been set up six months in advance of the project to help keep people informed.
