A FUND-RAISING campaign led by the family of a tragic Cheadle teenager has reached its milestone target.
Joe Leyland, a pupil at Painsley Catholic College, passed away after suffering a rare heart condition in 2016.
The 16-year-old’s death prompted heartbroken parents Ian and Maria to launch a fund-raising initiative in aid of Cardiac Risk in the Young – a charity which aims to raise awareness of such issues.
And the couple have now achieved their initial goal of setting up a heart screening event for members of the public in their home town.
