Swimming champion Adam Peaty is currently wowing television viewers with a new found talent – that of dancing as he flew through the first show of Strictly Come Dancing.
The multi Olympic Gold Medalist, who grew up in Uttoxeter and also attended Painsley Catholic College in Cheadle, left the show’s judges rather flustered after watching his Cha Cha performance with his professional partner Katya Jones.
The pair ended up being joint second on the Strictly leaderboard after receiving a total score of 30.
After the show Adam tweeted: “Well that was one of the best moments of my life, so much work went into that. Absolutely loving it.”
The next day, he shared a video of his performance on Twitter and said: “I can’t believe I did that. So happy with last night.
“A new week and now a new dance. One of the best experiences of my life.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
