SURVEY LAUNCH OFFERS CHANCE TO SHARE VIEWS
A MINOR injuries unit could be among a raft of new services considered for Cheadle Hospital after townsfolk compiled a wish list for the site.
More than 80 people attended a ‘listening event’ hosted by North Staffordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) at the Manor in Cheadle last week.
And a list of services they would like to see at the Royal Walk facility featured a walk-in clinic or minor injuries department, extra care beds for elderly people and an X-ray unit.
The meeting was the fifth and final event organised by the CCG to collect views on each of the five community hospitals affected by the loss of adult rehabilitation beds.
Proposals for each hospital – Cheadle, Leek Moorlands, Haywood, Bradwell and Longton Cottage Hospital – will be developed from the ideas generated at the ‘pre-consultation’ evenings.
The wish list will then be whittled down to a series of options which must be feasible, offer value for money and meet standards set by NHS England.
HEALTH chiefs have launched an online survey following a series of ‘pre-consultation listening events’.
The internet questionnaire went live the day after a meeting in Cheadle to discuss the possible shape of future health provision at the town’s hospital.
The responses will be compiled into a list of options and the CCGs will work with representatives of local residents to produce a shortlist that will be part of the CCGs’ pre-consultation business case.
That will then be submitted to NHS England for their consideration before the formal public consultation next year.
