By timesecholife on in All News, Community News

A NEW post office is being opened today for residents of a village in the Moorlands. The facility will be available to use at Lloyds Newsagents on Uttoxeter Road in Blythe Bridge from this morning (Wednesday, March 11) and will be open daily, for a total of nearly 80 hours a week. As well as the posting of parcels and letters, the branch will offer the option for customers of main UK banks to access their accounts as well as processing bill payments, cash withdrawals and home shopping collections and returns.

The service will be open from 5.30am to 6pm on Monday to Saturday and from 5.30am to 10am on Sundays.

Lloyds Newsagents manager Nilesh Patel said he wanted to open a post office to make things “easier for other members of the community in the Blythe Bridge area,” stating that his customers are “happy” with the opening.

A spokesperson for the Post Office said: “As part of an exciting modernisation and investment programme taking place across the Post Office network, a brand new Post Office has opened today at Lloyds Newsagents, on Uttoxeter Road, Blythe Bridge.

“The new branch offers customers a wide range of Post Office services, from posting letters and parcels to collecting and returning online shopping items.

“Customers can also take advantage of a wide range of banking services including cash withdrawals and balance enquiries for customers of all the main UK banks.

“The new Post Office services are available: Monday to Saturday: 5.30am until 6pm; Sunday: 5.30am until 10am.

“This offers customers nearly 80 hours of Post Office service a week, making it very convenient for customers to visit.

“The new branch aims to offer even more convenience to Post Office customers by extending the availability of Post Offices services in the area.

“The new branch joins the Blythe Bridge branch in bringing vital services to the area.

“Post Office services are offered from a low-screened, open-plan Post Office counter that is integrated into the retail counter, enabling customers to carry out a wide range of Post Office transactions alongside retail purchases.”

Steve Northey, Post Office Change Manager, added: “We want to make it as easy as possible for customers to pay their bills, withdraw cash from their bank accounts, and send and collect their mail at a time and place that suits them best.

“We know how important our services are to customers, and are confident that this brand new Post Office alongside the Blythe Bridge branch will ensure that people in this area have easy access to our services.”

This will be the second post office available in the area with a branch already located in Spar on Cheadle Road, Forsbrook.
