A FUND set up in memory of a 12-year-old boy who died after contracting flu has soared towards £14,000 in a week.
Dylan Day, from Cellarhead, passed away after developing sepsis triggered by a strain of Influenza B.
Hundreds of people have since paid tribute to the keen footballer, described by heartbroken mum Sarah as ‘happy, beautiful and brave’.
A fund-raising campaign set up by a family friend just eight days ago has reached £13,801 on Tuesday evening.
And Sarah said: “The response we have had and the support people have shown us has been overwhelming.
“Everyone has been amazing and we would like to thank them with all our hearts.
