A team of fundraisers have presented a cheque for more than £3,500 to charity – after they all took part in a ‘hair-raising’ challenge.

The team of six from Bargain Booze Plus on Cheadle’s High Street had their locks cut off to raise lots of cash for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.

The Brave the Shave took place earlier this year, outside the shop itself, and the team was made up of Andy Beynon, Christine Broad, Diane Platt, George Lewis, James Lovatt, and Nicola Cooper.

The team have now recently handed over a total of £3,646 to the Dougie Mac.

Nicola said: “We would like to thank everyone so much who donated, from customers, friends and family.

And thank you to our staff and to Diane for being so brave.”

Nicola added: “A big thank you too to Kath and Lewis for giving up their time to shave the heads.

We are amazed at the amount we raised and we really are so grateful.”
