The team behind the Gordon Banks Legend Walk have now handed over a total of £11,295 to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.
This follows them completing the annual challenge last October. The fund-raising initiative is organised by retired Cheadle hairdresser Duncan Cowans.
A spokesman for the team of walkers said: “Following the successful completion of the Gordon Banks Legend Walk last October, DMH Ambassador Duncan Cowans and his team have raised a staggering total of £11,295.
“The walkers covered the 50 miles through the night from Chesterfield (Gordon’s first club) to the Bet365 Stadium in order to raise funds for the DMH.
“No target was set but everyone involved has been amazed at the generosity of people, particularly in these most difficult of times for so many.”
