Animals from the Staffordshire Moorlands are set to feature in a small screen advertisement for a big national company.
Reindeer who live at Oakley’s Farm in Dilhorne have been transported to Wembley Arena in the capital recently to take part in filming for a national supermarket’s festive television advertisement.
A spokesman for Oakley’s Farm said: “Our company, The Animal Company, which is part of the Oakleys Farm Group, went to London’s Wembley Arena recently for the production of this year’s Tesco Christmas commercial advert where our reindeer will be seen.
“It was a full day of our reindeer standing still looking pretty. They did so well and slept all the way back in the trailer.”
Meanwhile, Oakley’s Farm are recruiting for some fun festive roles within their company.
The spokesman said: “Every year we have three teams each day that take our reindeer out, from schools to weddings to corporate events and Christmas parties.
“We need extra staff who would be confident handling the reindeer and being interacting with guests.”
And the team at Oakley’s are gearing up for their festive trips out by giving an 1875 Swedish sleigh a makeover.
The farm spokesman said: “We have decided to refurbish one of our original antique sleighs for our six weddings we have booked this year.
“It is more of a monster task than we thought and has had to be done with a lot of care and patience.”
And it would not be Christmas at Oakley’s Farm without their annual festive events for visitors to enjoy.
The spokesman added: “Before we fill our new Buffalo barn with buffalo, we are holding some Christmas markets this year to bring back that magic and cheer.
“People keep asking us if we will do something at Christmas again because they miss it, so there will be a chance to see our reindeer every weekend but also lots of local suppliers are coming along to showcase their businesses.
“It’s fabulous how many people in the local community are having a stall with us.”
The Oakley’s Farm Christmas Markets are set to take place every weekend from November 27 through to December 19.
There will be 30 indoor and outdoor stalls each day including: artisan, craft, handmade, rustic, florist, food, gifts, commissioned art and more.
The events will also include real Reindeer, The Croft Bar, hot drinks, crepes and waffles, buffalo grill, along with Christmas trees and wreaths for sale.
