A MURAL based around the values of the Commonwealth is to be unveiled in Cheadle's Market Place on Friday.
Created by students from across the Cheadle area, the artwork will reflect the 2018 theme of the Commonwealth ‘towards a common future.’
Made up of six panels, the work will be erected along the Market Place on Friday morning ahead of an official reveal at 12.30pm by Town Mayor, Cllr Ian Plant.
The project evolved from a conversation after the flag-raising ceremony on Commonwealth Day in March.
Teacher at The Cheadle Academy, Sarah Booth, came up with the idea of an artwork based around the themes of the Commonwealth while chatting to town council member and market trader, Cllr Dave Sergeant.
