By timesecholife on in All News, Featured News

A MAN was arrested last week following a 'serious incident' in Meir. The 18-year-old was arrested in connection with an incident which took place in Meir on Tuesday, June 18. A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “Officers were called to the eastbound slip road of the A50, near to the Meir tunnel, at around 10.15pm on Tuesday, June 18, following reports that a vehicle had been driven towards three teenagers.

The driver then got out of the car, and reportedly assaulted one of the teenagers before leaving the scene.

A 16-year-old boy suffered a minor head injury and was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital for treatment.

An 18-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent was detained a short time later at an address in Longton. “He was arrested on suspicion of common assault and failing to stop for police.

He has since been released on conditional bail, without charge, whilst enquiries continue.”
The investigation continues and anyone with any information about this incident is urged to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 840 of June 18.
