A man has been arrested over a collision in which a Moorlands man died in Hollington last month.
Police were called at 2.15am on Thursday, February 24 to Buttermilk Hill following reports of a traffic-related incident.
Sadly, 32-year-old Thomas Henry Kent was pronounced dead by paramedics a short time later.
Officers were seeking a dark-coloured vehicle in connection with the collision which they believed had travelled from Tean through Hollington and into Rocester at around 1.30am on February 24.
On Tuesday, March 8, a 23-year-old man from the Staffordshire area was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He remains in police custody while inquiries continue.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Pete Cooke, said: “I would like to thank the community of Hollington for their support and their help in responding to our appeals.
“I would urge people not to speculate on social media in relation to the circumstances of Mr Kent’s death while the inquiry is continuing.”
Anyone who has any information regarding the collision is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on Facebook, Twitter, or call 101, quoting incident number 51 of February 24.
