A charity-run nursery that has been caring for children in Cheadle for many decades, is moving to Checkley. Chapel Street Nursery will move from the Cheadle Methodist Church buildings in July, when a contract to rent the space comes to an end.

Chapel Street Nursery will move from the Cheadle Methodist Church buildings in July, when a contract to rent the space comes to an end.
Renovations to Cheadle Methodist Church were granted planning permission in 2017.
The buildings at the rear of the church have been home to key services in the town, including the nursery and Moorlands Home Link.
The nursery will continue as Chapel Street Nursery at Checkley, and will operate from Checkley Community Centre from September.
The move comes as a blow to some families in the town, who will no longer be able to access their preferred childcare due to the relocation of the nursery, which was rated Good across the board by Ofsted inspectors in November 2019.
The nursery will offer childcare 51 weeks of the year from 7.30am to 5.30pm each day, before and after school care to Hutchinson Memorial School and a holiday club.
A request for more information about the future plans for the buildings at the rear of Cheadle Methodist Church has been made to Chester and Stoke-on-Trent Methodist District, but no response has yet been received.
The Stunner also approached Moorlands Home Link, but staff there were unable to comment at the time of going to press.
