More than 20 firefighters helped to put out a large fire at a farm in the Moorlands this week. Staffordshire Fire & Rescue were called to a farm in Hollington in the early hours of yesterday morning (Tuesday, April 21).
More than 20 firefighters helped to put out a large fire at a farm in the Moorlands this week.
Staffordshire Fire & Rescue were called to a farm in Hollington in the early hours of yesterday morning (Tuesday, April 21).
A spokesman for the service said: “Good work from firefighters saved a farm outbuilding containing 50 tonnes of hay on Tuesday, April 21.
“23 firefighters attended a fire in the open on farmland near Uttoxeter.
“Five fire engines, from Uttoxeter, Cheadle, Ipstones and Longton, were sent to fight the fire which saw 80 tonnes of hay on fire on Main Road in Hollington.
“The fire was reported at 3.40am.
Graham Mills, Head of Emergency Response at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, added: “Thanks to quick intervention and extremely good work from firefighters to isolate the building and creating a fire break, the outbuilding was protected.”
