A Moorlands man is pedalling his way to raise funds for charity.
Justin Twigg, who lives in Leek, has taken on the ‘Cycle The Month’ in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
Justin said on his online fundraising page: “I’m cycling throughout May for Prostate Cancer UK.
“One in eight men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime, and it’s the UK’s third biggest cancer killer.
“But it doesn’t have to be this way. I’m raising money to help fund lifesaving research for men and their families affected by the disease.”
Justine further told the Leek & Moorlands Echo: “I really enjoy cycling it really helps me to unwind, sort my thoughts out and helps me to keep fit.
“I bought my ebike second hand a little over three years ago and I’ve done nearly 6,000 miles on it so far.
“A suggestion was made to me to take on the month long cycle challenge to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
“So I decided on trying to raise £300 for 300 miles over the month.
“I’d like to thank all my friends and family who have donated so far and hope to hit both goals by the end of the month.”
As of yesterday (Tuesday, May 17), Justin had, through his online fundraising page, raised a total of £170 out of his £300 target. And he had completed 170.6 miles of his 300 mile challenge.
Anyone wishing to donate to Justin’s cause can do so by going online to:https://cyclethemonth.prostatecanceruk.org/fundraising/twiggys-300-mile-cycle-for-prostate-cancer-in.
