POLICE were called to a string of accidents on Sunday and Monday as heavy snowfall left roads in the area in a treacherous condition.
The A50, between Blythe Bridge and Uttoxeter, was closed for a time on Monday morning after one of the incidents.
A white Transit van hit the central reservation on the west-bound carriageway, around five miles from the McDonalds roundabout in Uttoxeter, leaving a trail of debris on the road.
Two other vehicles also left the carriageway due to the weather conditions.
The incident, which took place at around 6.30 on Monday morning, meant police closed the road to allow recovery of the vehicle to take place.
