Overwhelming support for online collection

AN online donation page, set up in memory of Amy Louise Savage who was fatally injured in a road traffic collision on Sunday morning, raised almost £700 in less than an hour after it went live yesterday, Tuesday.
The webpage was established in memory of the 22-year-old who died after the red VW Passat she was a passenger of came into collision with a dry stone wall at Bottom Lane, Onecote at 7.05am on 2nd July.
It has been inundated by donations and messages of tribute to the young woman who was from Cheddleton.
The Passat is believed to have travelled along Blakelow Road to the junction with the B5053 Bottom Lane when the incident occurred and police are now appealing to any witnesses to come forward.
Amy was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A 30-year-old man from the Biddulph area was air lifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital where he was admitted and treated for chest injuries. His condition is described as stable at this time.
The 26-year-old male driver from the Leek area was arrested at the scene having provided a positive breath test. He has been released pending further enquiries.
Specialist officers are supporting the family of Amy Louise Savage at this time.
Anyone who saw the red VW Passat in the area or witnessed the actual collision itself is asked to call the police on 101 quoting incident 192 of 2 July.
Anyone wishing to add to the online collection in memory of Amy may do so by logging onto: www.gofundme.com/in-memory-of-amy-savage.
Any monies raise will be given to Amy’s family to help towards funeral costs.
