The concerns have been raised regarding the pavement which goes along the A522 between Cheadle and Tean.
Cheadle resident Sandra Cartwright told the Times & Echo: “We had a very dangerous walk home the other evening from Tean to Cheadle.
“I am sure everyone knows the speed traffic travels on that road.
“The pavement is very narrow (anyway) but now the branches prevent you from walking without stepping onto the road.
“We had cars traveling at high speed blowing their horns at us.
“Can’t something be done about this?”
We contacted Staffordshire County Council about Mrs Cartwright’s concerns, to which councillor David Williams, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport at the local authority, said: “We do listen to residents and work with local communities when there is an issue affecting their neighbourhood.
“Our highways teams do carry out routine inspections of our pavements and will be visiting the area to see what can be done.
“The easiest way to report highways issues is on the MyStaffs App or at www.staffordshire.gov.uk.”
