An appeal has been made for any information relating to a missing bird.

Jerry, a Jackdaw, has become “part of the family” for Cheadle resident Gary Bentley, who helped the bird after it was found in Tean Road Recreation Grounds as a fledgling who had presumably become separated from its mother.

Jerry had also become a bit of a ‘regular’ in The Huntsman public house beer garden.

Gary said: “It was on June 11 when Jerry was found and I said I would take him in.

“It looked like he had been abandoned by his mother.

“We fed him and he became very tame.”

However, after five weeks as part of the Bentley family, Jerry made flight and has not been seen since.

Gary added: “Jerry has a white ring on one of his legs and I am offering a small reward for any information about where he is – even if that is news that I don’t want to hear.

“We just want to know what’s happened to him – we had him for five weeks and he became a part of the family.”

Anyone who may have spotted Jerry is asked to call Gary on 07812 111474.
