The team of six from Bargain Booze Plus on Cheadle’s High Street have had their long locks cut off in a bid to raise lots of cash for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.
The Brave the Shave took place on Saturday, May 7, outside the shop itself, and a local barber and a hairdresser gave up their time for free to carry out ‘the chops.’
The fundraising team is made up of Andy Beynon, Christine Broad, Diane Platt, George Lewis, James Lovatt, and Nicola Cooper.
Although not all monies have been counted, it’s looking like the team have raised around £3,000.
Nicola said: “A big thank you to the local businesses that donated when two of our baldies went around the shops.
“Thanks to everyone who continued to pop in to the shop and donate.
“Also we want to give a shout out to one of our independent businesses, Unicorn Sparklz who came in, donated cash but who then also gave us an unexpected box full of bath and shower goodies for the six new baldies.
“Such an amazing and kind thing to do and the staff were absolutely chuffed to bits. All the goodies smell gorgeous. Thank you.
“Also, a massive thanks to Lewis and Kath for the cutting and shaving and thanks to those who came and watched. And to our amazing staff.
“Again a huge heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated, family, customers, friends, delivery crews and businesses.”
