A GYPSY family has won the right to set up a permanent camp on land they have called home for more than a decade.
David and Johanna Price, their three sons, their wives and six grandchildren have lived in caravans at Olive Tree Park, in Checkley, for over 10 years.
Their plan to stay at the Uttoxeter Road site on a permanent basis was described last week as having ‘divided the community’.
But the application was approved by planners at Staffordshire Moorlands District Council on Thursday.
The family first occupied the site in 2007 and has since been granted temporary permission to stay there on several occasions.
