A UTTOXETER grandmother preparing for her next marathon challenge is hoping to enlist the support of residents in the town.
Novice runner Dorothy Waddington completed her first-ever 26-mile distance last year in memory of Rubie Fisher – the six-week-old daughter of close friends Kerry and Russ who died from meningitis.
Now the 54-year-old is gearing up for two more formidable events – and is calling on townsfolk to get behind her.
A Winter Wonderland race in London next month will act as part of Dorothy’s preparation for the Manchester marathon on April 8.
And she’s determined to raise as much money as she can for charity.
