Golfer Hadrian on course for £100,000

By timesecholife on in All News, Latest News

A GOLFER is teeing up to hit a £100,000 target for charity at Uttoxeter Golf Club.

Hadrian Greensmith has organised an annual charity golf day for the past 12 years, raising £78,000.

Now, with plans to host the event on his 60th birthday next week, Hadrian is hoping to drive the charity total to £100,000.

A maintenance team leader in JCB’s hydraulic business unit at the World Headquarters, Hadrian will celebrate turning 60 on Friday, June 8 with up to 80 golfers on the fairways at the Wood Lane course.

The event regularly raises thousands and this year the proceeds will be split between the Teenage Cancer Trust, Breast Cancer Care and the European Disabled Golf Association (EDGA).

Grandfather of two, Hadrian, of Wolesley Bridge, near Rugeley, said: “My old workmate John Poyser and I used to organise the event together and we were a great team.

“When John died of cancer I was determined to carry on and while it’s tempting to say that at 60 this year is my last, it would be a shame not to aim for £100,000.”
