A GARDEN party held in memory of two women has helped raise £600 for charity. The memorial garden party was held in Blythe Bridge on Saturday, June 15 in memory of Anne Ellis and Eirlys Jones who both died in 2016, leaving behind their life partners, father and son Robert and Jason Ellis. Bob Ellis, from Blythe Bridge, was devastated when his wife, Anne, died in June 2016 aged 72.
In December of the same year, their son, Jason, lost his partner of 27 years, Eirlys Jones at the age of 48.
The father and son duo now host an annual garden party to keep Anne and Eirlys’ memories alive.
Robert said of this year’s event: “It was a brilliant turn out despite the weather.
“Had it been good weather, it would have been even better.”
This was the third memorial garden party which Robert and Jason have hosted in memory of Anne and Eirlys.
Robert added: “It was a fitting tribute to both Anne and Eirlys with lots of family and friends turning up.
“We will be doing it again next year, all being well.
“I would like to thank all for turning up, Spar for donating a hamper which we raffled, and our neighbours Emily and Drew who did all the cooking which was absolutely fantastic.
“They also provided the rock and roll music from Emily’s father John.”
A total of £600 was raised at the garden party which is set to be donated to the Air Ambulance.
Robert and Jason have already donated more than £1,500 to the charity.
