SCHOOLCHILDREN, businesses and community groups across the Cheadle, Uttoxeter and Blythe Bridge areas have helped the nation raise £50.6 million for Children in Need.
The annual BBC charity appeal raised the record-breaking amount on Friday with the help of people across the country.
After Friday, the total raised for disadvantaged children in the UK topped £1 billion since the charity launched in 1980.
While people of all ages take part in fund-raising for Children in Need, schools across the UK are a vital aspect of the annual event and pupils across the Moorlands and Uttoxeter again heeded the call, running cake stalls, taking on rambles and enjoying a non-uniform day as part of their efforts.
We are the only family run, independent newspaper and magazine business in Staffordshire, established 1896. We are home to three weekly newspapers – The Cheadle and Tean Times (aka The Stunner), The Uttoxeter Echo and The Leek & Moorlands Echo.
We also produce Peeps into the Past, a bi-monthly nostalgic glimpse into our photographic archives, and three bi-monthly glossy lifestyle magazines – Stone and Eccleshall Life, Leek Life and Newcastle Life.
