Members of a football club have raised a total of £2,000 for charity. Cheadle SMUFC have rallied round to provide Christmas donations to local charities.

Cheadle SMUFC have rallied round to provide Christmas donations to local charities.
Each of the 20 teams and groups within the club have raised £100 resulting in an overall total of £2,000.
Chairman of CSMUFC, Ian Morton, said: “Cheadle Toy Bank have been given £1,000 to support their work in ensuring that local children and families can have a good Christmas.
“A number of tablets and other items have been purchased and donated to the toy bank appeal.” Councillor Elizabeth Whitehouse said “Cheadle Toy Bank Appeal are incredibly grateful for the massive donation from Cheadle SMUFC and this donation will go towards gifts for children over ten years of age.”
The photographs show representatives from the club alongside councillors Jamie Evans and Elizabeth Whitehouse.
Ian added: “The club are extremely pleased to be able to share this donation with the amazing local charitable organisations.
“Children are at the very heart of what we do so it seems fitting that we are able to support local families to have a good Christmas during these challenging times.”
CSMUFC football coaching sessions take place at the Football Academy at Cheadle Leisure Centre as follows: Girls wild cats Monday evenings 6.30pm to 7.30pm – contact Chris on 07840 337533. Open sessions (boys and girls) Tuesday 5.30pm to 6.30pm Reception and Year One. Saturday 9.45am to 10.45am Year Two only and 11am to noon for Reception and Year One children – contact Ian on 07594 552318.
