Five decades of salon in village

By timesecholife on in All News, Community News

A SALON owner is celebrating five decades of offering hairdressing services to residents in a Moorlands village. The Hair Studio in Forsbrook opened it's doors in Chapel Street on November 11, 1969. Glyn and Dot Mills initially ran the salon with a partner, Jim Johnson who went on to teach at Cauldon College.

Glyn and Dot then ran the salon until Glyn sadly passed away in 2007.

Dot decided to carry on running the business with the support of Dot Jackson, a qualified stylist who had previously worked at the salon in the 1980s.

They were then joined by another stylist Mandy Firkins who had also worked at the Hair Studio in the eighties.

Dot said: “We have always had a relaxed friendly atmosphere in the salon. But we have kept up to date with the latest trends in hairdressing.

“I would like to thank our staff and customers for their continued support and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.”
