As the nation continues with its battle with coronavirus, the Government has set out that people can only leave their homes for a number of reasons. One of those reasons is to: “exercise with your household (or support bubble) or one other person, this should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.”
Across the country, there has been a number of people fined for exercising not in their local area, and it is understood that a number of people were fined on Saturday at some of the Moorland’s scenic spots.
When contacted by the Times & Echo regarding the fines being issued on Saturday, a spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “We will not have the official figures in relation to issued FPNs on 09/01 until week commencing 18/01.
“We can confirm that we did receive a call about overcrowding at the site on 09/01 and officers are continuing to monitor the site.”
