BUSINESSES from the Cheadle and Uttoxeter area are in the running to be named the best in Staffordshire. The Ramblers' Retreat at Alton and Denstone Hall Farm Shop and Cafe have both been shortlisted for the Taste of Staffordshire Good Food Awards 2018. The businesses will discover if they've won their categories at a glittering awards ceremony at Uttoxeter Racecourse later this month.
They will be up against other Taste of Staffordshire-accredited businesses from across the county, in nine categories including Tea Room/Coffee Shop of the Year, Public House of the Year, and Independent Restaurant of the Year.
Both businesses have previously won Taste of Staffordshire Awards.
The black tie gala dinner, in the 1907 Suite at Uttoxeter Racecourse, is on Monday, October 22 and will feature Staffordshire produce including Denstone Hall Farm beef.
Organised by Destination Staffordshire, in partnership with NFU Mutual’s Stone Agency, the awards will be hosted by BBC Midlands Today presenter Joanne Malin.
Destination Staffordshire’s senior marketing officer Andrea Sammons said: “The Taste of Staffordshire Good Food Awards is our chance to thank our food and drink businesses for the contribution they make to Staffordshire tourism.
“With their commitment to delivering the best experience to their customers, through the highest standards of food and customer service, they are helping to put the county on the map as a foodie destination.
“We look forward to celebrating their role and recognising their hard work.”
Tickets for the awards are £55 or £550 for a table of 10 and are available at www.enjoystaffordshire.com/tastetickets until Monday, October 15.
Only businesses in Staffordshire which have received a four or five star food hygiene rating are eligible for entry into the Taste of Staffordshire Good Food Awards.
