A young Moorlands girl has completed an energetic challenge for charity.
Seven-year-old Eva Maguire, from Cheadle, had decided to carry out a 20 minute workout everyday during Lent – all in aid of the Donna Louise Hospice.
The St Giles Catholic Primary School pupil has now completed her self-set challenge and raised more than £1,200 for the hospice.
Eva’s mum, Claire Maguire, said: “Eva has completed her challenge with extraordinary grit and determination.
“She has surprised me with just how motivated she has been throughout and has inspired me to get up and get fit also.
“Eva is so much fitter and more confident and it is fantastic that we have had such kind support from our community and friends enabling us to raise such a fantastic final amount.
“The most enjoyable part of the challenge was meeting up with her school class bubble for a final workout at the park which Eva led enthusiastically and the mums and nans joined in at the same time, a brilliant suggestion from one of the school mums.
“The total amount raised with online and cash donations combined is £1,237.
“Thank you also to Terry at Trentham Fencing for his cash booster challenge which meant another £100 was donated when Eva surpassed the £1,000 mark.”
Eva said: “I would like to thank everyone that has donated to my chosen charity.
“It has been really exciting completing my challenge and my school friends have helped me by joining in on PE lessons and came to join me in the park for my final HIIT workout.
“I am feeling much stronger than before I started and want to carry on but maybe not everyday.”
