The group’s popular bingo events had a break due to the pandemic but it is now back to ‘eyes down’ for the fundraising evenings and the group has hosted a special evening recently to donate to a selection of community groups.
A spokesman for Haregate in Action said: “For the first time since the start of the pandemic, Haregate in Action were able to reflect on a successful fundraising campaign and distribute donations to local charities.
“This year we were pleased to be able to help Moorlands Dog Rescue, Leek School of Dance, Ball Haye Green Under 15’s football team and 4th Leek Beaver Cubs.
“Representatives of all the charities were able to attend to receive their cheques following the recent annual general meeting of the group committee.”
They added: “As well as the yearly donations to local charities, Haregate in Action also maintain and update the defibrillators bought by the group and placed around the Haregate area.
“We would like to thank all those who continue to support us and look forward to another successful year enabling us to help even more deserving local causes.”
Haregate in Action’s next annual event will be a Fun Day on June 25.
