ADVENTUROUS young people have been given a boost to help them achieve a royal award.
Forresters 456 Masonic Lodge Uttoxeter donated £500 to the town’s Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) team and Thomas Alleyne’s High School DofE.
The money will be used to update equipment used as part of award activities which include volunteering, learning a new skill and completing an expedition.
DofE lead Simon Crum said: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive such a generous donation.
“The award scheme has gone from strength to strength over the last 10 years and we have nearly 200 candidates undertaking their awards at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels at Thomas Alleyne’s.
