For our latest Images of Yesteryear feature, Jim Plant, who is the Tower Captain at St. Giles Parish Church, has sent in this old photograph. Jim said: “I would be interested if anyone knows anything about the whereabouts of this bell that is the centrepiece of this photograph taken during the time of Rector Jones who was Rector here in Cheadle from 1945 to 1956.

“The photograph appears to have been taken in a rural area.
“I only recognize a few on the photograph. From L to R: ?, 2nd.Mrs Jones. Capt. Crook (Church Army); 3rd possibly Dora Green?; Mr. Charles. (Headmaster Cof E School)?; Mr. Bill Slack. Rector Jones. Miss Goodhall. Mrs Charles. ? Miss Turner. Mr Bott?
