SECURITY staff at digger giants JCB could be handed enforcement powers in a bid to crackdown on problem parking in Rocester.
Parish councillors say workers are leaving cars parked in the village for hours at a time – and they’re worried news of hundreds of extra jobs at the factory, announced last week, will lead to further issues.
They’re keen to involve the company in a plan to tackle the problem by giving security staff the power to hand out penalty notices to staff who clog up village roads.
The council will also seek help from Stoke-on-Trent City Council, which provides parking enforcement for Staffordshire County Council.
The issue was discussed at a meeting of the parish council on Monday night.
Cllr Dennis Barlow said: “I’m very concerned about the increase of employees at JCB and parking in the village.
