DANGEROUS parking near a village train station has sparked safety fears, a meeting of Forsbrook Parish Council has heard.
Poor parking is causing a hazard near the level crossing and the box junction at Uttoxeter Road and Caverswall Road in Blythe Bridge, forcing some drivers to wait within the yellow grid – a manoeuvre deemed illegal if the exit road is not clear.
Fears that the number of cars parked in Caverswall Road is increasing have been added to previous concerns about potholes and patchwork tarmac.
The road, which links Blythe Bridge and Caverswall, runs alongside the railway line and through a residential area as well as exiting into a box junction where traffic is also controlled by a level crossing.
Vehicles are being left on one side of the road by drivers unwilling to pay to use the National Rail owned car park nearby.
After receiving a letter of complaint, Peter Jones, chairman of Forsbrook Parish Council is calling for a plan of action.
