A parish council in the Moorlands is carrying out a further public consultation surrounding a neighbourhood plan. Checkley Parish Council, supported by the Checkley Parish Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, is going back to consultation for the local Neighbourhood Plan.

A spokesman for the council said: “Checkley Parish Council supported by the Checkley Parish Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group took account of the earlier consultation and have updated the document accordingly.

We are repeating the consultation due to the Local Green Space part of the draft plan.

From midday on Friday, June 3 until midday on Friday, July 15, Checkley Parish Council will be formally undertaking consultation in accordance with Regulation-14, Town and Country Planning, England Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulation 2012. This is a six-week statutory consultation period and we welcome comments on the draft plan.”

To view the plan, hard copies together with consultation forms can be found at the following locations: Greatwood Hall, Hollington Road, Upper Tean; Dog & Partridge, Uttoxeter Road, Lower Tean; Checkley Community Centre, Uttoxeter Road, Checkley; The Raddle Inn, Quarry Bank, Hollington; Hollington Village Hall, Hollington.

The spokesman continued: “If you are unable to get to these locations then please call 07840 456397 or 01538 528118 and leave a message stating you are requesting a copy of the plan, along with your name, contact number and address.

An electronic copy is also available to view online or download at www.checkleyparishcouncil.co.uk/regulation-14-consultation together with a downloadable consultation form.”

Checkley Parish Council, supported by the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, will also be at the following community events and markets where the plan can also be viewed: Picnic in the Park, Tean Recreational Ground on Sunday, June 5 throughout the day; Greatwood Hall, Hollington Road, Upper Tean on Wednesday, June 15, Wednesday, June 22, Wednesday, June 29, Tuesday, July 12 – all between 6.30pm and 7.30pm; Checkley Cricket Club, Uttoxeter Road, Checkley on Thursday, June 9 between 5pm and 6pm.

The spokesman added: “Please check our website for any further pop-up events.

We want to hear from you, please give your views on any of the policies in the draft Plan and any other comments you would like to make.
