WITH the nation continuing its battle with coronavirus and England being in its third lockdown, individuals and organisations are continuing to offer help and support for others within the community during these surreal times.
Here are just some of the offers of such help which are in our area…..
Alton
Alton Covid Support Volunteers are back in action. Are you on your own with no support? Struggling to cope, worried, need a bit of help or someone to chat to? Maybe someone to pick up a prescription, do some shopping or post a letter?
If anyone is on their own and needs help please get in touch with the volunteer who supported them earlier in the year or directly with the Alton Covid Support Group on 01538 703222 or 07989 268096. Prescriptions from Alton Surgery: the surgery have the list of volunteers and can contact directly.
Blythe Bridge and Forsbrook
The Forsbrook Parish Council is offering help and support to vulnerable residents within the parish with their shopping and medical requirements.
Anyone who needs help and support is invited to contact parish clerk Dawn Plant on 07919 911938.
Blythe Centre Phone-Buddy Scheme
This service consists of regular phone-calls by one of their volunteers to an individual in the district who is isolating, or just feels too much on their own.
A spokesman explained: “The service now works with nearly three dozen folk and brings definite benefits. It’s not a counselling service, but just a friendly phone-call.
“The service is organised through the volunteer Care & Fun Charity, which is the community charity based in Blythe Bridge, and which also runs the Blythe library centre.”

“If you need support I’ll point you to the appropriate service to help you. If you need anything from me, just let me know and I’ll try my best to get you sorted.”
