A PAIR of signed football boots worn by Stoke City star Xherdan Shaqiri have helped a village school raise more than £1,200.
The winger’s pink and white Nike boots were among the lots at a fund-raising auction held at St Leonard’s First School in Ipstones on Friday.
The winger, who scored in City’s 1-1 draw against Brighton the following day, had donated the boots after being approached by a parent at the school who works at the club.
They were sold for £45 in the end – along with a huge range of other items as part of the auction, hosted by Ipstones Frothblowers in aid of the school’s Parent Teachers Association.
