Other Cheadle members who finished were Mark Smith 1:37:21, Mark Stoddard 1:39:46, Donna Hughes1:39:56, Neil Sherratt 1:50:41, Lee Plant 2:01:36, David Nutter 2:12:20, Sarah Nutter 2:12:21, Ryan Shorter 2:28:59, Jen Adamson 2:29:00 and Jade Hughes 2:42:02.
In the Newcastle 10k, Charlie Cox finished in 39:38, followed by Daz Morrey 40:23, Chris Scullion 43:25 and Russell Williams 48:35.
Further afield, Mark Harrison completed the Brighton Marathon in 3:30:24.
Cheadke Running Club is staging an introduction to running with a ‘Couch to 5k Beginners Evening’.
No experience is necessary for this and the nine-week programme builds new runners up in small steps from absolute beginner level to being able to run for fun.
The sessions take place on Wednesdays at South Moorlands Leisure Centre, Cheadle from 6pm to 6.30 pm from April 25 to July 4 , and are led by experienced runners for free. Runners just needing to come along in suitable clothing.
Runners will be provided with a schedule to do two other sessions per week on their own or with friends. There is no need to book, just turn up.
