Cath celebrates centenary at care home

By timesecholife on in All News, Community News

FAMILY, friends and carers gathered for afternoon tea to celebrate the 100th birthday of a Moorlands woman.

Catherine Burston achieved her centenary on Tuesday, September 4 and the occasion was distinguished by a birthday card from HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Now a resident at Wetley Manor Care Home, she was joined by family and friends to mark the milestone.

Cath was born in Forsbrook in 1918, one of the five children of the late George and Sarah Myatt.

When she was two, the family moved to Dilhorne where she attended the school until at the age of 14 she left to work at Cheadle Textiles.
