SPEEDS of over 100mph have been recorded on residential streets in Uttoxeter. Speed Indication Devices (SIDS) which tell drivers how fast they are going and indicate whether or not their speed is over the limit, also record data on motorists, including how fast they are travelling and at what time.

A PLEA has gone out to the owners of premises with defibrillators to get the potentially life-saving pieces of kit registered on a new national database. At least 10 defibrillators in Uttoxeter were found to be completely unregistered, meaning only a handful of people knew they were available and their location.

A CHARITY drive at The Fashion Parade in Uttoxeter has raised £5,000 for Breast Cancer Now. The team at the store, in Uttoxeter’s High Street, have spent the whole of October raising awareness about breast cancer and funds for the charity.

A RUNNER from Uttoxeter is taking on a 5k daily challenge for a rabbit rescue - dressed as a bunny. Vicky Fletcher, 49, is hoping to raise funds for Rabbits Choice Rescue and Retreat, which is funded and run by Cherri Blanche at her Uttoxeter home. But Cherri and her family are moving house and a new 8’x10’ shed will be needed for the animals she cares for.

AMBULANCE bosses are to hear the story of a Uttoxeter couple who waited for more than two hours for emergency assistance. Deborah Cooper shared their terrifying ordeal at a meeting of Uttoxeter Town Council earlier this month, which was also attended by two directors from West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS).

A pie maker in East Staffordshire has been highly commended for his baking skills at a national awards ceremony. Simon Wilson who runs the Pie Shak at High Ash Farm in Abbots Bromley was recently invited to attend the British Pie Awards which took place in Melton Mowbray.

Residents of an East Staffordshire village are worried about the impact a scheduled road closure will have on commuters and a regular bus service. South Staffordshire Water have confirmed that works on Stone Road in Bramshall that were due to start on Monday (October 4) have now been pushed back to the proposed date of Monday, October 18.
