Please be patient plea from NHS staff

AN INFLUX of inquiries to GP surgeries in Uttoxeter has seen staff attempting to deal with up to 800 calls a day. The success of the Covid-19 vaccination drive in the area, and the reduction nationally in hospitalisations for people with the virus, has prompted an increase in patients contacting secondary care.

Eric celebrates 100th birthday with all his ‘wonderful friends’

A MANCHESTER electrician who went on to become a war hero, greengrocer, postman and eventually Parade Ring Manager at Uttoxeter racecourse, has celebrated his centenary. Eric Coleman, who was the oldest Parade Ring Manager in British horse racing, before his retirement at the age of 93, was treated to a special day at the races to mark his 100th birthday.

A CARE home that was gifted to the town of Uttoxeter by the widow of Dr Charles Bamford, is to be sold as a going concern. The Hermitage Residential Home in Holly Road, is run by a charitable trust and caters for women over the age of 65 from the Uttoxeter area.
