CIVIC LEADERS DEMAND RETHINK OVER MOVE TO SCRAP MORE ROUTES
BUS company bosses are being urged to rethink plans to scrap a string of services to and from Cheadle.
Several evening routes serving passengers in the town and surrounding villages are to be axed as part of a shake-up by First Potteries.
But civic leaders are urging the private company to reconsider the impact of any changes before rolling out the new timetable.
Town councillor Deborah Grocott said: “It’s disappointing but not particularly surprising to hear about more plans to cut bus services in this area.
“It’s vitally important that people in rural areas have access to good transport links but the service seems to be being eroded bit by bit.
