STAFF members at Uttoxeter's Leek United branch will be donning their brightest summer wardrobe this week as part of a fund-raising drive for The Donna Louise Trust.
But, as well as wearing flip flops to work on Friday, a team from the society will also be taking part in a three-peak challenge next month.
The challenge is set to take place on Saturday, August 11, where a team of 10 inexperienced walkers will be completing Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike in 24 hours.
Branch manager at Uttoxeter, Michelle Prince, said: “There are ten walkers from the society taking part, including chief executive, Kevin Wilson.
“The team are doing it for the Donna Louise Trust as the society is aiming to raise £10,000 in support of their ‘One in a Million’ campaign.”
The three-peak challenge isn’t the first charity mission that a team from the society have set themselves, as in February, a group of fundraisers took part in The Big Sleep Out at the Bet365 Stadium, in support of Lou Macari’s homeless shelter in Stoke.
Staff at the branch, located at Market Place, will be supporting the team by taking play in ‘Flip Flop Friday’ as well as selling cakes in a bid to raise additional funds.
