A JCB worker has been commended for his bravery after helping to rescue a trapped teenager from her burning car.
Adam Sharman and teacher Edward Howard, from Cheadle, were branded ‘heroes’ by Staffordshire’s Chief Fire Officer Becci Bryant.
And both were presented with official commendations at Cheadle Community Fire Station last week.
The pair came across a car crash in Draycott Cross Road at around 9.50pm on Friday, November 3.
A Citroen Saxo, driven by a 19-year-old woman, and a Range Rover had collided in the country lane.
The couple in the Range Rover – Tony and Karen Buckle – were shaken but uninjured.
Mr Buckle ran to help the woman in the Saxo and was joined moments later by Mr Howard and Mr Sharman, who were travelling separately along the lane.
